Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Cath Lab position requiring prior travel experience, Epic proficiency, and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

  • Hospital-based Cardiac Cath Lab setting, with work also performed in the EP Lab and Interventional Radiology
  • Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 4x10-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM
  • On-call, weekend, and holiday coverage required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Patient population includes adults undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac, vascular, neurological, and electrophysiology procedures
  • Procedures performed include left and right heart catheterizations, cardiac stent placement, PCI, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, pacemaker/defibrillator lead extraction, rotablator atherectomy, pulmonary artery/Swan-Ganz monitoring, and more
  • Skills utilized include ACT monitoring, cardioversion, procedural sedation monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, sheath removal, 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition, and IV vasopressor administration
  • Electrophysiology procedures include AICD insertion/programming and pacemaker insertion

Requirements

  • Active TX RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS (AHA preferred; military acceptable; ARC not accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR proficiency required
  • SSN, DOB, and a state-issued photo ID required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Candidates residing within 90 miles of the facility are considered local and may be subject to a different pay rate
  • RTO requests are limited to no more than 5 non-consecutive days; during the holiday season (November through January), only one holiday RTO request may be submitted for approval
  • All RTO must be approved by management prior to contract signing and will be documented in the Work Order Confirmation
  • Orientation includes completion of required modules via Healthstream; any modules not completed prior to start will be finished during orientation and reviewed annually
  • Preferred skills include ventilator management, Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale, vascular studies, carotid stenting, central venous access/port placement, cerebral angiography, and blood product administration
