Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Level II Trauma acute care hospital in Florida, requiring ACLS, BLS, and conscious sedation skills with on-call availability.
Details
- Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab setting within a 615-bed, short-term acute care hospital (Level II Trauma, Level I Pediatric Trauma)
- Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Patient ratio of 1:4 on day shift
- On-call required approximately 10–12 days per month; every other weekend on-call required
- Weekend work required
- Floating within the hospital may be required to meet facility needs
- Cerner EMR used; experience preferred
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active FL RN license or compact RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab RN experience required
- Conscious sedation and telemetry skills required
- Proficiency in Cardiac Cath Lab procedures including left/right heart catheterization, PCI, cardiac stent placement, and ACT monitoring
- Experience with procedural sedation administration/monitoring and IV therapy required
- Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Must be able to respond to the hospital within 30 minutes when on call
- DOB required for consideration
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical and religious exemptions accepted)
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include circulating procedures, monitoring procedural sedation, administering IV therapy, and performing cardiac cath lab procedures
- Xper system experience is preferred
- Royal blue scrubs required
- No RTO is permitted during the contract; any RTO requests must be resolved directly with the hiring manager prior to acceptance
- First-time travelers will be considered if highly experienced
- Local candidates (within 100 miles of the facility) are not eligible
- Permanent employees of BayCare must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler; return traveler eligibility is currently limited to specific specialties (ICU, MICU, CVICU, ED, PCU, MS/Tele)
- Must pass an EKG exam (up to 3 attempts allowed)
- Pre-employment and annual online modules required; completion timelines vary by specialty
- Smoke-free facility
