Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab RN for a short-term acute care hospital, requiring 2+ years of Cardiac Cath and IR experience and Cerner EMR proficiency.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting within the Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology (IR) departments
• Day shift schedule of 4x10 hour shifts from 6:30 to 17:00
• 1:1 patient ratio in the Cardiac Cath Lab
• On-call requirement of 1 week on, 3 weeks off
• May float to IR within scope of practice
• Uses Cerner EMR for charting

Requirements

• Active FL or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab and IR experience required
• Cerner EMR charting experience required
• Conscious sedation skills required
• Proficiency with Cardiac Cath Lab procedures including diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, PCI, stent placement, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, and TEE
• Skilled in Electrophysiology procedures including cardioversion and pacemaker insertion
• Competency in sheath removal/monitoring and vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
• Experience administering and monitoring procedural sedation and managing emergency medications
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias and obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in the Cardiac Cath Lab, including circulating procedures and monitoring vascular access sites
• Perform activated clotting time (ACT) testing and manage IV therapy including blood product administration
• Administer and monitor a range of cardiac medications including antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, vasopressors, and thrombolytics
• Wear royal blue scrubs as part of the dress code
• COVID-19 vaccination required with medical or religious exemptions accepted
• Must pass an EKG exam prior to starting (maximum 3 attempts)
• First-time travelers accepted only if they have prior Cath Lab RN experience
• Local candidates accepted within 75-100 miles of the facility
• Former permanent employees must wait at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
• Travelers must be willing to float within the assigned hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• RTO is not guaranteed in the contract and must be discussed during the interview process
