Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab/EP RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring 2+ years of cardiac cath lab experience and a SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab setting in an acute care hospital
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Rotating 4x10hr day shifts (0700-1730 and 0930-2000), grouped weekly for consistency, with hours varying based on procedure completion
• On-call required: one weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun) per month plus one weekday call shift per week
• No floating to other service lines or sister facilities
• Uses Epic EMR
• Hospital-issued scrubs required for Cath Lab staff

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license in hand prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab/EP experience required
• Skills required include diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, cardiac stent placement, Impella insertion, left and right heart catheterizations, and circulating procedures
• Experience with interpretation/management of dysrhythmias and monitoring procedural sedation required
• Community hospital experience required
• Radiation badge required, must be provided by the agency
• Social Security Number and Driver's License required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including stent placements and heart catheterizations
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation and manage dysrhythmias
• Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval based on unit needs
• During hurricane season (June through November, peaking August-September), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius to be prioritized; local candidates considered case-by-case at a reduced rate
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks, which may be broken down into partial cancellations
