Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

A Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) is needed to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced cardiac catheterization lab environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for circulating and monitoring cases, including procedural sedation, and will collaborate with diverse medical staff.

Position Details

• Unit Type: Cardiac Cath Lab
• Shift Length: 10 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift Schedule: 4 ten-hour shifts weekly, Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 5 PM, including call responsibilities

Qualifications

• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a Cath Lab, with a preference for travel nursing experience.
• Certifications: Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• Clinical Skills: Must demonstrate proficiency in circulating and monitoring cases, and experience with structural heart cases is essential. MacLab experience is preferred.
• EMR Experience: Familiarity with MacLab and Epic systems.

Responsibilities

The Cath Lab Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

• Circulating and monitoring cases, particularly STEMI and structural heart cases.
• Performing procedural sedation and preparing for sedation testing prior to patient arrival.
• Collaborating with physicians and Cath Lab technologists to provide patient care.
• Participating in on-call duties, including weekends and holidays.
• Adhering to hospital protocols and maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.

Work Environment

The position is located in a Cath Lab with two suites, handling an average of 8-10 cases per day. The RN will work closely with Cath Lab technologists and clinical staff to deliver exceptional patient care.

• Call Response Time: A prompt response time of 30 minutes is expected for calls.
