Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab RN with at least 2 years of experience and an active AK RN license for a Level II Trauma acute care hospital.

Details

• Work in the Cath Lab department of an acute care hospital
• May float within scope to EP or IR units
• Day shift schedule: 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• On-call required 1 day per week plus every 4th/5th weekend (Friday 1800 to Monday 0730)
• Approximately 1 Saturday per month as part of scheduled shifts
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active AK RN license required in hand for consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in procedures such as ACT, circulate procedures, sheath removal/monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and monitoring procedural sedation
• Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including left/right heart catheterization, PCI, IABP placement/removal, and interventional catheterizations
• Knowledge of emergency medications, antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, IV vasopressors, and thrombolytics
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Provide direct patient care in a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma acute care hospital recognized as a top hospital in Alaska
• Scrubs provided by facility

• First-time travelers accepted
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travamurler and cannot reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Only 1 time off request permitted per 13-week assignment, approved individually upon offer
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
