Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab RN with Maclab, Impella, and intraaortic balloon pump expertise for a 13-week day-shift assignment.

Details

• Cardiac Cath Lab unit in a 324-bed medical center with Level II trauma care
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• On-call requirement of 1-2 nights per week plus 10 days of call per month, including IR/Vascular and STEMI coverage
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required (compact license not accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Cath Lab RN experience required
• Experience with Maclab (hemodynamics) required
• Basic knowledge of IR and Vascular procedures required
• Impella experience required
• Knowledge and operation of intraaortic balloon pump required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills checklist current within 1 year pertinent to Cath Lab specialty required
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required
• Documentation showing active Michigan license status via LARA and/or Nursys required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to patients before, during, and after angiography, interventional cardiac catheterization, and other diagnostic cardiac procedures
• Assist with stress echocardiograms, treadmill exams, nuclear and pharmacologic stress testing, tilt table tests, echocardiograms, cardioversions, and transesophageal echocardiograms
• Perform Holter monitor, event monitor, and ambulatory blood pressure monitor application, as well as pacemaker interrogations
• Insert PICC lines and serve as a vascular access resource
• Operate specialized equipment including hemodynamic monitors, pacemakers/ICDs, intraaortic balloon pumps, crash carts, IV pumps, defibrillators, and point-of-care glucose testing devices
• Scrub in for procedures alongside physicians and assist other cath lab team members
• Document procedural data and contribute to development of cardiovascular education materials
• Navy blue scrubs required per facility dress code
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius, as local candidates will not be considered
• No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) permitted during the assignment
