Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring combined Cath Lab and IR experience and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology unit setting
• Cares for cardiac catheterization patients (diagnostic and interventional) and IR patients requiring drains, tubes, kyphoplasty, and biopsies
• Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
• Averages 8-10 call shifts per month, including 1-2 weekends per month
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Float required
• Scrubs provided

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required; IR-only experience not accepted
• Experience in both Cath Lab and IR Lab required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement
• Skilled in procedures including cardiac catheterizations, PCI, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, pacemaker/defibrillator lead extraction, angioplasty, embolization, biopsy, and central venous access placement
• Experience with procedural sedation administration/monitoring, 12-lead EKG interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include circulating procedures, infection prevention, isolation precautions, and monitoring of procedural sedation
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• RTO should be kept close to 1 week
• Previous employees may be considered after a 6-month, system-wide waiting period
