Cardiac Cath Lab Tech Profession: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-16:30 Hours per Shift: 9 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: State License required for RNs; ARRT or RCIS Certification for Techs within 3 years of hire if not a Rad Technologist with ARRT. Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: BLS & ACLS Advanced skills for EP circulating, scrubbing, and monitoring Description: This position is for a travel Cath Lab Tech. The unit operates with 2 Cath lab rooms and an EP holding area. Patient ratios are typically 1-1 or 2-1. Staffing includes directors, charge RNs, techs, and RNs. Key equipment utilized includes GE fluoroscopy, Mac Lab, Acist, Volcano, IVUS, Angiojet, and Penumbra. The documentation system used is Mac Lab and Medi Tech. Scheduling may require working 4-10 or 5-8 hour days with potential late stays on call rotation. Floating to holding, EP lab, or other areas within scope of practice may be required. Procedures performed include TAVR, Watchman, PCI, peripherals, Impella, and Balloon pumps. Scrubs are provided and must comply with hospital uniform dress code policy. The facility is a 221-bed acute care hospital with a comprehensive cardiovascular program and various specialized services. It has been designated a Level II trauma center, providing 24/7 emergency care.
