Explains procedures and treatments to patients to gain their cooperation and understanding and to allay apprehension. Prepares patients for procedures by positioning and using appropriate equipment. Operates diagnostic imaging equipment to produce contrast-enhanced radiographs of the cardiovascular system. Operates multichannel physiologic monitor to measure and record functions of the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems of patients during cardiac catheterization. Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions. Communicates with physicians regarding patients' conditions and reactions to treatments. Assists physicians in diagnostic and interventional procedures. Provides technical assistance as needed. Complies with departmental and regulatory policies and procedures.
