Job Title: Cardiac Cath Specialist

Experience: Must have experience in the cardiovascular specialist position. Must have scrubbing experience within a Cath Lab or Interventional Lab.
License: One of the following is required:
- Certified in Clienttion Therapy or Radiology through ARRT.
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification through CCI.
Certifications: ARRT required
Must-Have: Scrubbing experience within a Cath Lab or Interventional Lab.
Description:
Assists physicians with obtaining digital radiographic images of the heart, peripheral vessels, and other required structures.
Appropriately controls radiographic equipment to acquire quality images.
Moves the radiographic table so that the physician visualizes desired structures.
Sets x-ray acquisition parameters for cardiac and peripheral images to provide quality results.
Practices radiation safety by utilizing distance and appropriate protective attire.
Demonstrates knowledge of various procedures and techniques and applies these to meet comprehensive patient needs.
Anticipates patient and physician needs, alerts physician to changes in patient condition, and contributes to the plan in an organized and timely manner.
Demonstrates expertise in hemodynamics, diagnostic, interventional, and peripheral procedures including devices and protocols.
Prepares procedure rooms and equipment for daily use and each procedure.
Conducts daily room quality checks and notifies appropriate personnel of any variances.
Ensures sufficient stock is maintained to accommodate routine daily case volumes.
Manages in-room inventory and supply management.
Stores all patient care products according to regulations.
Documents data necessary for patient records and reporting.
Retrieves stored information from various systems and verifies data for accuracy.
Documents complications and variances for continuous quality improvement.
Delivers pre-, during-, and post-procedure patient care while maintaining accurate documentation and data entry.
Prepares scrub table and patient for procedures while maintaining sterile techniques.
Prepares lines and devices for administration of injectable fluids.
Injections of drugs may be performed under direct supervision of a physician, as well as insertion of IVs.
Operates, inspects, troubleshoots, and performs routine maintenance for various cardiac catheterization lab equipment.
Effectively operates all devices utilized in cardiac cath procedures.
Initiates maintenance or service on any damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
May perform lead worker responsibilities such as training and educating staff and assigning work to other specialists or staff.
Monitors, records, evaluates, and maintains patient information.
Works in an organized and timely fashion by prioritizing tasks to ensure efficient patient care.
Meets challenges of case volumes and patient care issues to ensure optimal care and outcomes.
Ensures quality and accuracy of reported laboratory data.
Reports variances to the physician and ensures appropriate actions are taken.
Ensures all recorded data is accurate and makes corrections as needed.
