Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist for a hybrid cardiac cath and IR lab at a short-term acute care hospital, requiring a minimum of 1 year of experience and an active FL license.

Details

  • Hybrid lab performing both Cardiac Cath and IR cases — no neuro or structural heart cases
  • Short-term acute care hospital with 223 staffed beds
  • Daily caseload of approximately 25 cases per tech
  • 4x10 hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • On-call is required: one week on call followed by two weeks off; call team consists of 2 RNs and 2 Techs
  • STEMI call and IR are covered by the same call team
  • No floating to sister or affiliate facilities
  • Cerner EMR preferred

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of Cath Lab experience required; strong cardiac cath experience is required and strong IR experience is preferred
  • Active FL license required (pending state license not accepted); license required if applicable
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • ARRT (R), ARRT Advanced Cert, CCI RCIS, CCI RCES, CET, and Fluoroscopy Permit preferred
  • Cardiac Cath skills required: left and right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, balloon angioplasty, stents, thrombectomy, coil embolization, IVC filter placement, pacemaker/defibrillator device placement, and Impella insertion
  • IR skills required: stents, angioplasty, thoracentesis, upper and lower extremity studies, abdominal and pelvic studies, genitourinary studies, vascular studies, and venous access
  • EP skills required: baseline measurements and insertion/programming of AICDs and pacemakers
  • EKG skills required: rhythm interpretation, sinus node rhythms, and holter monitoring
  • Proficiency in scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating required
  • Community hospital experience preferred; Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions accepted)
  • Date of birth required for consideration

  • A pass/fail EKG exam is required (3 attempts allowed)
  • Pre-start and annual modules are required; hours vary by specialty
  • Former permanent employees of the facility system must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Return travelers may only apply to select specialties; this position does not fall under the standard return traveler restriction
  • Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to qualify; candidates living within 100 miles may not be eligible — note that certain allied specialties are exempt from this rule
  • Local candidates are accepted, subject to the 100-mile radius rule
  • No RTO is permitted within the contract; candidates with RTO needs should be prepared to discuss directly with the hiring manager
