Job Title: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech Profession: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10.5 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Not specified Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: • Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role: BLS, ACLS Description: Must know how to scrub. Number of beds: 4 rooms, 1 patient per room. Number of staff: 22, consisting of RN and Techs. Staffing includes a director and manager, with a minimum of 3 staff members per room during day shift. Night shift has an on-call team with 4 staff members on STEMI call. Patient ratios are 1:1. Type of equipment includes all GE rooms. Documentation systems used are Meditech and MacLab. Maximum 15 days of call during critical periods. Typical procedures performed include cardiac catheterizations, cerebellar angiograms, stenting, balloons, and ENT lab scrubbing. Additional preferences include RCIS and ARRT. Dress code is surgical scrubs; the unit will provide scrubs. Daily huddle calls are conducted. Development of relationships with staff and patients is paramount. The department has a gold seal of approval and is well run. An excellent director leads the department.
