Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 2+ years of cath lab experience for an acute care hospital's cardiac catheterization lab.

Details

• Acute care hospital with 304 staffed beds
• Cardiac Cath Lab unit running 4-5 labs per day with 2-3 CVT staff per lab
• Daily caseload of approximately 20-25 cases
• Rotating 4x10 hour day shifts (7:00 AM-5:30 PM and 9:30 AM-8:00 PM), grouped by week for consistency
• On-call requirement of one weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) per 7 weeks plus a weekly call shift and evening shift
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• No floating between service lines or to sister facilities
• EPIC charting system used, experience preferred
• Hospital-issued scrubs provided for Cath Lab staff

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA certifications only)
• ARRT or RCIS certification required (registered or in process)
• South Carolina RN license required if applicable
• Community hospital experience required
• Proficient in coronary diagnostic and intervention scrub and monitor duties
• Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including cardiac stent placement, left and right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, and rotablator atherectomy
• Experience with diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings, vascular studies, and thrombolysis/thrombectomy
• Familiarity with PACS equipment
• Radiation badge required, to be provided by the agency
• Social Security number and driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform procedural responsibilities including accurate monitoring and a range of cardiac cath lab interventions
• Additional exposure to abdominal/pelvic embolization, IVC filter placement, and Impella insertion preferred
• Experience with Fuji Vidistar and MAC Lab systems preferred
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on position needs
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis within a 60-mile radius, though non-local candidates are prioritized
• Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval, dependent on unit needs
• Staff may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
