Job Title: Cath Lab Tech Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: Cath Lab Tech Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Hours (07:00 - 17:30) Experience: Minimum 2 Years' Experience Required License: NC or Compact License Pending OK for Submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, must have at least one: RCIS or ARRT Must-Have: Structural Heart Scrub Experience Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly lead to a cancel and DNR. Structural heart scrub experience is a must. Do not screen candidates without this experience. Travelers may start on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of the first week. Candidates must be fully available with no other commitments to accommodate any schedule changes. Missing any portion of orientation may result in a delayed or canceled start. The final start date will be confirmed on the Tuesday prior to the start week. The unit will accept first-time travelers. Locals are accepted, and there may be a rate difference. The target ratio is 3 Rooms. Call requirements include callback and weekend call. Approximately 9-11 days in a 6-week schedule with 1-2 weekends depending on rotation. Floating could be required but would be rare. If a traveler ever had to float, it would be to EP. The unit has a patient holding area inside the Cath lab. Some complex procedures performed in the lab include complex PCIs. Skills required include scrub, monitor, PA lines, telemetry, structural heart experience, and TAVR experience. Experience in cath lab procedures includes balloon angioplasty, PCI, stents, thrombectomy, Impella insertion, and left & right heart catheterization. Certifications required are ACLS, BLS, and at least one certification from the following: RCIS or ARRT. Preferred skills include circulating, IV start, and conscious sedation. Cath lab procedure experience with Watchman procedures, septal closure, ablations, coil embolization, and filter placement is a plus. Candidates should have EKG settings and rhythm interpretation experience. The unit staffs 8 and works 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday. Weekend requirements include call responsibilities. Candidates must be prepared to float within or near the facility as per job description. Travel pairs are allowed, provided they are on different units and are disclosed. References can be pending upon submission. Candidates must be open to floating within or near the facility as per the job description.
