Job Title: Cath Lab Tech Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: Cardiac Catheterization Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Active Compact License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CCI RCIS Must-Have: - Experience in Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab - Experience with Cardiac Stent Placement, Diagnostic Catheterizations Adult, IABP Placement/Removal, Impella insertion, Left heart catheterization, Percutaneous Coronary Interventions, Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty, Right heart catheterization, Rotablader athrectomy, Temporary Pacemaker, Ventricular Assist Device Insertion - Skills in Accurate monitoring, Equipment setup, EKG lead placement, Prepping access site, Recognizing life-threatening arrhythmias, Room circulation, Scrubbing and maintaining sterile field, Managing Vascular Closure Systems - Knowledge of Isolation Precautions Description: Perm candidates from other facilities are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least three months. All facilities honor active compact licenses. Call is required, typically 6 evenings and one weekend per 6 weeks. Weekend shifts are typically one weekend on standby every six weeks with a 30-minute response time upon callback. Medication system used is Pyxis. Documentation system includes EPIC and McKesson. The unit has 3 cath labs and one hybrid OR. Staffing is supported by Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Daily census is approximately 17 patients. There are 4 procedure rooms and 4 beds in the unit. Patients may present with a variety of cardiac conditions.
