Job Title: Cardiac Cath Tech Profession: Allied Specialty: Cardiac Cath Tech Duration: 14 weeks Shift: 10hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Cath Lab experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ARRT-R or RCIS Must-Have: Cath Lab experience Experience with peripheral angiogram/run-off Willingness to learn if no experience with endografts, EVARs, or TEVARs Description: The position is for a Cardiac Cath Tech. The facility has 874 licensed beds and is a Level I Trauma and Teaching Hospital. It is designated as a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center. The unit consists of 4 cardiac rooms and 3 vascular rooms. Travelers must have a permanent address located 50 miles outside the home unit. Patient types include cardiac cases such as NON-STEMI, STEMI, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitral Clip. Vascular cases primarily involve lower extremity angiograms, EVAR, and TEVAR cases. Support within the department includes a traffic flow coordinator, charge nurse, IV/VAT team, VAD team, RT for emergencies, ECMO team, and code team. There is no floating between units. The technology and equipment used include EMR, hemodynamic monitoring, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, patient monitors, and various x-ray equipment. The manager will provide details regarding the on-call schedule during the interview process. Holiday expectations include working at least one holiday during the contract, if applicable. Travelers are expected to cover each other's requests for time off, possibly leading to extra call coverage. The unit culture is described as positive and supportive.
