Job Title: Cath Lab Technician Profession: Cath Lab Technician Specialty: Cath Lab Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RT-R ARRT or RCIS Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Ability to assist with procedures to analyze, diagnose, and treat the cardiovascular system. - Capacity to perform active physiological monitoring of heart rate, rhythm, pressures, and saturations. - Skill to anticipate changes during cases that indicate necessary information, such as catheter position. - Proficiency in accurately identifying and communicating patient condition changes to the physician and team. - Experience in routinely performing patient testing and/or monitoring to include oxygen saturation, cardiac output, shunting, and hemodynamic calculations. - Knowledge of variation of procedures, including the equipment and supplies used for performance. - Demonstrated ability to handle, prepare, and maintain asepsis. - Ability to anticipate and adapt to physician and case needs. - Experience in assisting with room setup, patient transport, and post-procedure clean-up. - Commitment to ensuring infection control and sharp safety procedures are followed. - Experience in performing patient education regarding post-procedure monitoring and care of catheter insertion site. - Familiarity with providing instructions and information regarding activity including normal, variant, and issues requiring intervention.
