The Cath Lab Technologist assists physicians during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures. This role is responsible for preparing equipment, monitoring patients, and ensuring a sterile and safe procedural environment while delivering high-quality patient care.
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or related field
Completion of an accredited cardiovascular or radiologic technologist program
Certification such Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred OR certification by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Radiography (R)
Valid state license in GA
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Cath Lab or interventional setting preferred
Experience assisting in cardiac catheterization or interventional radiology procedures is a plus
Responsibilities:
Assist cardiologists and physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures (e.g., angiograms, stent placements, pacemaker insertions)
Prepare and maintain the catheterization laboratory, ensuring all equipment is sterile and functioning properly
Monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic data during procedures
Operate imaging and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
Administer medications under physician supervision as permitted
Scrub in and assist with sterile techniques during procedures
Prepare patients pre-procedure and provide post-procedure care instructions
Respond promptly to emergency situations, including cardiac events
Maintain accurate patient records and procedural documentation
Ensure compliance with radiation safety and infection control standards
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
