MUST HAVE MASS LICENSE Job Overview Perform interventional cardiac procedures on assigned patients according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of the department and hospital. Procedures may include, but are not limited to cardiac catheterizations, angioplasty, peripheral vascular procedures, electrophysiology, and pacemakers. Perform procedures using current interventional cardiology standards in a safe, accurate and timely manner, meeting appropriate imaging standards that allow the interventional cardiologist and/or other physician to make appropriate diagnosis. Responsible for designated areas and/or procedures as assigned. Work cooperatively within departments and other service lines to create a system of quality health care. Work independently and be a clinical/technical resource for students and/or technologists as required. Job Description Minimum Qualifications: 1. Associated Degree in Radiology. 2. Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT). 3. Radiologic Technologist state license or license eligible. 4. Basic Life Support Certification. 5. ACLS Certification. 6. Minimum 1 year of experience as an Interventional Cardiovascular Technologist. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. 1. Independently Assist during interventional cardiac procedures on patients as assigned according to policy and cardiovascular standards. 2. Comply with safety, infection control, and environmental control policies and procedures for the department. 3. Operate complex and sophisticated equipment related to cardiology procedures according to guidelines and standards. 4. Verify and perform correct imaging protocol, steps, procedures, and equipment parameters for each patient as required. 5. Perform first assist using appropriate sterile techniques. 6. Ensure patient and staff safety for equipment used. 7. Participate in ongoing education and training. 8. Monitor and record hemodynamic and physiologic values using Cath Lab Computer systems. 9. Perform quality control on equipment and devices as required. 10. Communicate with other staff/departments to coordinate care of patients. 11. Maintain supply stock and request stock to be ordered when necessary. 12. Keep all work areas clean and functional according to DPH and The Joint Commission. 13. Train and educate students and/or technologists on proper procedures and techniques. 14. Participate in on-call rotation as required. Physical Requirements: 1. Frequent standing, occasional sitting, walking, and lifting 30-35 lbs. 2. Manual dexterity using fine hand manipulation to operate cardiac catheterization laboratory equipment. 3. Hearing and visual acuity sufficient to perform examinations, observe patients, read monitors and documents, and hear audible equipment alarms. 4. Exposure to bodily fluids and communicable diseases. Skills & Abilities: 1. Knowledge of interventional cardiac equipment, examinations, and procedures. 2. Knowledge of radiation safety protocols. 3. Very good communication skills. 4.
