Job Title: Cath Lab Technologist Profession: Medical Technologist Specialty: Cardiac Labs Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year in Special Procedures or Cath/EP cases License: State Medical Radiologic License Certifications: Active ARRT or RCIS, ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in Special Procedures or Cath/EP cases. - Must hold State Medical Radiologic License. - Must disclose any previous employment history. - Previous experience in a critical care setting is preferred. - Previous travel experience is highly preferred. Description: Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility will have a local rate. Conduct specialized examinations in cardiac catheterization, peripheral vascular studies, and/or electrophysiology studies. Serve as a lead worker and resource to medical and clinical staff as needed. Collaborate with the intra-procedure team to provide safe patient care. Participate consistently in Universal Protocol and site marking identification when applicable. Assist with identification, preparation, and draping of patients, and room preparation for routine procedures. Read physician's orders and protocols, and communicate with physicians as necessary regarding protocols. Select equipment in accordance with protocols and standards to ensure patient comfort and satisfaction. Maintain and calibrate equipment, instituting and recording all preventive maintenance procedures. Troubleshoot and report or seek repair to maintain equipment operability. Conduct maintenance on special procedures equipment and calibrate such equipment before each procedure. Instruct technologists in the operation of special procedures equipment as needed. Identify ways to improve work processes and customer satisfaction. Make recommendations to supervisors and monitor results as appropriate. Stay abreast of the latest developments and trends in the field of cardiovascular technology. Integrate knowledge gained into current work practices. Maintain knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines that impact cardiovascular technology. Revise procedures for repeated use of special procedures equipment. Develop effective internal controls that promote adherence to applicable laws and program requirements. Seek advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding.
