Job Title: Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist Profession: Cath Lab Technologist Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-hour Days Hours per Shift: 40 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Active Illinois license required or confirmation that application process has been initiated Certifications: AART, BLS, IEMA Must-Have: Previous cath lab experience; pediatric experience preferred but not required; familiarity with McKesson cardiology PACS preferred but not required Description: The Cath Lab Technologist will be responsible for scrubbing, monitoring hemodynamics, and circulating during procedures. Experience in a cath lab setting is essential. Experience with pediatric patients is preferred, but not required. Familiarity with McKesson cardiology PACS is preferred, but not mandatory. The unit typically performs 10 to 15 cases per day. The call response time is 30 minutes from the time of page. There is a primary charge nurse available on each shift from 0600 to 1530. Rotation for weekend and holiday call requirements is standard. Techs are not required to float to other units at this time. Scrubs are provided by the facility. Orientation usually lasts from 3 to 5 days. Participation in the mandatory call list is required when staff cannot fulfill their scheduled call shift.
