Job Title: Cath Lab Technologist Profession: Allied Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active Illinois license required or confirmation that application process has been initiated Certifications: AART, BLS, IEMA Must-Have: Previous cath lab experience; pediatric experience preferred but not required; McKesson cardiology PACS experience preferred but not required Description: This position requires the ability to scrub, monitor hemodynamics, and circulate during procedures. The Cath Lab typically performs 10 to 15 cases per day. Experience in a Cath Lab is essential for this role. Techs are not required to float to other units. Scrubs are provided by the facility. Primary charge nurse is present from 0600 to 1530 but does not routinely complete cases. On-call requirements are weekly and rotated among staff, typically resulting in 8-9 shifts per month. Call response time is expected to be within 30 minutes of notification. Department-specific orientation usually lasts 3 to 5 days. Technologists are required to maintain a drug-free status and produce a negative drug screen. There is a mandatory call list in place for instances when staff cannot fulfill their call shift.
