Cath Lab Technologist

Location: Omaha, NE

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Day shift, 8-hour shifts) with on-call rotation: 1-2 nights/week, 1 weekend/month and rotating holidays — 30 minute call response time

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $77 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Scrub and assist the physician during cath lab procedures, including left heart catheterizations and stent placements
  • Prepare and manage equipment for ICD and pacemaker procedures, ensuring sterile technique
  • Continuously monitor patients during procedures and document case details accurately in EPIC
  • Support a single-suite cath lab workflow, contributing to efficient 1-3 cases per day
  • Float between assigned campuses as needed and complete campus-specific orientation (1-3 days per site)
  • Respond to on-call activations within the 30-minute response window and provide dependable emergent support
  • Adhere to facility policies including infection control and fingernail/artificial nail standards
Qualifications
  • ARRT or RCIS registration required (must be registered prior to submittal)
  • BLS (AHA) required
  • Minimum 1 year of cath lab experience with competency in left heart caths, stent placement, ICD and pacemaker procedures
  • Valid driver’s license at time of submittal and ability to reliably travel within a 50-mile radius
  • Willingness to float between Lakeside, Immanuel and Bergan Mercy campuses
  • Ability to take on-call shifts (nights, weekends, holidays) as part of a rotating schedule
  • Not currently full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity)
Education
  • ARRT or RCIS registration required
  • BLS (AHA) required
  • BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
  • Hands-on cardiac catheterization and scrub assist skills
  • Patient monitoring and intra-procedural documentation expertise
  • Familiarity with EPIC charting system
  • Experience with Siemens cath systems, Siemens Sensis, Apollo, and Phillips IVUS
  • Comfortable working in acute care/cath lab settings with coronary artery disease and AMI patients
  • On-call experience and ability to maintain composure during emergent callbacks
