Job Description Job DescriptionCath Lab Tech needed This position will accept local candidatesEKG exam is not requiredMust have ARRTFive-8 HR Day shifts Shifts (Will consider Four 10-hour shifts, if preferred)Monday through Friday as assigned, totaling 40 hours/week.1 late shift /week which if working 8hr shift would be 9 a.m until scheduled cases are complete. STEMI callCall-1 night/week and 1 weekend every 6th week or so. If not on STEMI call no scheduled weekend casesUnit Specific DetailsRun at least 4 labs daily, some days 5 - consisting of Cath labs, EP labs, peripheral vascular lab, HybridCase load varies - approx 20-30 cases/dayScrubbing procedures - techs in this dept. scrub all procedures and move C-arm/collimate per physician. Diagnostic, PCI, IABP, Impella, pacemakers, ICD s, ablations afib, PVC, SVT etc.Will not monitor any procedures in our department4 labs Philips Azurion, 1 lab Siemens artis ZEMR is Epic, Hemodynamics in cath and vascular is Change Healthcare (McKesson)Procedures are performed with 1 RT (scrub) and 2 RN s(monitor and circulator) in each room. Same for STEMI call 1 RT and 2 RN sNot required to perform any functions outside the cath labJob DescriptionAssists with cardiac electrophysiology studies and ablation procedures by calibrating equipment, setting up procedures, prepping patients, operation monitoring and recording devices, and collection of diagnostic data during procedures. Maintains an electronically and radiologically safe environment in the laboratory. Provides care to adolescent through geriatric patients. Must have analytical abilities necessary to monitor and assess patient s condition. Must have analytical abilities necessary to perform calculations for diagnosis and treatment of cardiac abnormalities. Must have analytical abilities necessary to recognize normal and abnormal ECG and to monitor several sources of data to make quick and accurate decisions as to status of patient. Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients and their fears, their families, physicians and various medical personnel. Must be able to calculate drug dosages and administer medication appropriately. Must utilize all PPE including lead apron and thyroid shield Mechanical ability to operate / maintain complex electrical equipment and recording devices, and assist the physician in the cardiac laboratory and operating room environment Ability to react quickly under pressure in stressful environment. Ability to work flexible schedules and on call rotation. Maintain: the laboratory/operating room and equipment; manage supplies FIFO; and support accurate billing for procedures performed. Work requires some lifting and positioning of patients. Education Qualifications - Required Minimum Education: Vocational/ Technical Degree Specialty/Major: RCIS, Radiology Tech and / or accredited Electrophysiology program. Preferred Education: 4 year/ Bachelors Degree. Hampton Roads requires the Dysrhythmia exam at orientation Notes New position approved to be opened on 6/18
