Cardiovascular Cath Lab Technologist – Travel Contract

Position Overview:

Location: 425 Jack Martin Blvd, Brick Township, NJ 08724
Contract: 13 Weeks

Schedule & Assignment Details:

• Shift: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 6:30 PM
• Schedule: 4 × 10-hour shifts
• Hours: 40 hours/week
• Weekend: Required as needed
• Holiday: Required — 1 summer holiday and 1 winter holiday
• On-Call: Required — minimum 7 shifts, maximum 10 shifts during the assignment
• Floating: Not required
• Scrub Color: Green

Required Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience required per client scheduling requirements.
• 3 years of recent Cardiac Cath Lab experience preferred for the role.
• Strong experience assisting with invasive cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Impella experience required.
• Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) experience required.
• Permanent pacemaker placement experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced Cardiac Cath Lab environment.

Preferred Experience:

• Mac-Lab experience
• EPIC experience
• Permanent pacemaker placement experience

Position Summary:

The Cardiovascular Cath Lab Technologist assists physicians with invasive cardiac and peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures. The technologist is responsible for preparing procedure rooms and equipment, maintaining a sterile environment, monitoring hemodynamics, operating specialized equipment, and supporting advanced circulatory devices including Impella and IABP.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare procedure rooms, sterile trays, and specialized equipment for cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures.
• Support temporary and permanent pacemaker placements.
• Assist with Impella and IABP circulatory support devices.
• Set up, calibrate, and monitor hemodynamic equipment.
• Obtain, calculate, and analyze hemodynamic data, cardiac output, and oximetry readings.
• Operate power injectors and associated sterile equipment.
• Assist with patient positioning and monitoring.
• Maintain digital imaging and cardiovascular information systems (CVIS).
• Assist with vascular access, sheath removal, radial band application, and hemostasis.
• Recognize and interpret cardiac arrhythmias.
• Maintain inventory and ensure procedure readiness.
• Follow radiation safety and infection prevention protocols.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and quality checks.
• Participate in the department's on-call rotation.

• Safely lift up to 40 lbs, push/pull up to 100 lbs, and stand for extended periods.

  Education:

• Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or Applied Science program.

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in a health science field preferred.

   

  Required Certifications / Licensure:

• BLS – AHA
• Radiology Certification
• ARRT preferred

• State Radiologic License, if applicable

  Additional Facility Requirements:

• ACLS must be obtained within 3 months of employment if not already held.
• RCIS certification or Radiologic Technologist License within one year of hire is preferred/facility requirement as applicable.
