Cath Lab Technologist (RT(R) CVT)

About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Cath Lab Technologist with experience in diagnostic and interventional procedures. This role involves working in a busy Cath Lab environment, providing care for a variety of patient types and performing multiple cases daily.

Facility Overview

• Level III Trauma Center
• 375 licensed beds
• Covid vaccine required

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with diagnostic and interventional procedures including LHC/RHC, NSTEMI, STEMI, Impella, IABPs, Rotablator, CTOs, and more.
• Operate and scrub in during procedures, monitoring patients effectively.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including cardiologists, intensivists, and respiratory therapists.
• Participate in patient transport and care coordination.

Patient Types

The position will involve handling a range of patients requiring:

• Diagnostic and interventional catheterization (legs and heart)
• Electrophysiology procedures including Micra, pacemakers, AICDs, lead extractions, and generator changes

Daily Operations

On average, 8 cases are performed daily. The candidate should be comfortable and experienced with the equipment used in these procedures.

Qualifications

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• ARRT or RCIS license required
• Active state licensure
• Minimum of 1 year of Cath Lab experience required (2+ years for first-time travelers)
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring preferred

Technical Skills

The ideal candidate will be proficient with:

• Using EMR systems, specifically EPIC
• IV pumps (Alaris) and medication dispensing (Pyxis)
• Image management (PACS: Picom)
• Hemodynamic systems (Merge preferred, but not required)

Support and Resources

The Cath Lab team includes:

• Scheduler
• Charge nurse/Lead Tech
• 24/7 respiratory therapy and hospitalist support
• Access to intensivists and a rapid response team

Orientation and Schedule

Orientation will begin with a New Employee Orientation followed by training in the department. Schedule includes rotating shifts, weekend rotations, and holiday expectations. On-call duty is necessary for this role.
