Responsibilities
- Conducts specialized examinations in cardiac catheterization, peripheral vascular studies, and electrophysiology studies.
- Serves as a lead worker and resource to medical and clinical staff to maximize utilization of capabilities.
- Collaborates with the intra-procedure team to provide safe patient care; participates in Universal Protocol and site marking when applicable.
- Assists with identification, preparation, and draping of patients, and room preparation for routine procedures; reviews physician orders and protocols and communicates with physicians as needed.
- Reads orders/protocols and selects equipment in accord with protocols and regulatory standards to ensure patient comfort and satisfaction; maintains and calibrates equipment and performs preventive maintenance.
- Maintains and calibrates special procedures equipment, conducting troubleshooting and arranging repairs to sustain operability; contributes to process improvements and ongoing quality of care.
- Stays current with developments in cardiovascular technology through continued education and professional activity; integrates knowledge into daily practice.
- Ensures compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines affecting cardiovascular technology and the cardiac labs area.

Requirements
- 1 year of experience in Special Procedures or Cath/EP cases; active ARRT or RCIS certification; TX Medical Radiologic License; active ACLS and BLS; must disclose any previous Parkland employment history in profile.
- Resume required; Cardiac Cath Lab Skills Checklist must be provided; 2 supervisory references from within the last year; proof of taxable address (Driver’s License plus a current utility bill or equivalent document).
- Previous travel experience is highly preferred.
- Willingness to participate in rotating after-hours on-call with a Sunday rotation; weekend schedule described by the facility.
