Registered Nurse - Critical Care Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour night shifts, with weekends as scheduled.

Job Description

The critical care unit has 20 beds and consists of a diverse patient population. Approximately 30-50% of patients will be COVID positive, while others may be experiencing cardiac issues post-angioplasty, diabetic ketoacidosis, sepsis, or complications from abdominal/bowel surgeries.

Nurses may be float to work within this unit but are expected to spend 98% of their time in the critical care environment. Care for COVID patients will be required due to the current patient demographics.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to critically ill patients, including those with COVID-19.
• Monitor vital signs and assess patient conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to create and implement care plans.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current nursing license.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
• Experience in ICU settings is preferred but not mandatory.
