Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Profession: Rehabilitation Therapy Specialty: COTA Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 6:30/7:00am - 3/3:30pm (example schedule) / One weekend day per month Experience: Minimum of one year in hospital acute care License: Current state licensure or eligibility in Occupational Therapy Certifications: Basic Life Support through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association Must-Have: - Degree from an ACOTE accredited school - One year of experience in hospital acute care - Experience running Occupational Therapy groups is a plus - Strong documentation skills in an EMR, preferably a hospital-based system - Strong skills in flexibility, time management, and communication - Focus on patient care and customer service excellence Description: This role involves working within a large multidisciplinary team of approximately 40 clinicians. The environment is fast-paced, where clinicians treat a variety of diagnoses, including orthopedics, neurological, behavioral health, and critical care. The focus will be on treatments that include morning activities of daily living, one-on-one treatment, and facilitating group treatment. The ideal candidate is someone who is excited to join a thriving and energetic team. They should have a passion for continuing education and learning more to better serve patients. The candidate should believe in providing one-on-one care with highly trained clinicians. They should value lifelong relationships with patients and be able to deliver therapy services across the lifespan. Responsibilities include delivering quality occupational therapy services according to treatment plans for patients. Accurate and timely documentation for the current patient caseload is essential. The candidate will meet all clinical, departmental, and regulatory expectations, including productivity standards. They will conduct patient and family education as well as educate hospital staff, including physicians and nursing teams.
