We are seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide high-quality occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The COTA will help patients develop and maintain the skills needed to perform daily activities, improve functional independence, and achieve their individualized therapy goals.
Responsibilities
Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Provide therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, coordination, balance, mobility, and functional skills.
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and other functional tasks.
Teach patients appropriate adaptive techniques and use of assistive equipment.
Monitor patient progress and response to treatment and communicate observations to the supervising OT.
Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, safety techniques, and strategies to promote independence.
Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Collaborate with the OT and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Maintain a safe and supportive treatment environment.
Modify activities as appropriate based on patient needs and within the established plan of care.
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Active COTA license in the applicable state.
Previous COTA experience preferred.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to document accurately and efficiently.
Ability to work independently while following the direction of the supervising OT.
