We are seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our healthcare team. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapy services that help patients improve daily living skills, functional independence, strength, coordination, and overall quality of life.
Responsibilities- Assist in implementing individualized occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist
- Provide therapeutic activities and exercises to improve activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, coordination, and fine motor skills
- Monitor patient progress during therapy sessions and communicate updates to the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques, safety strategies, and home exercise programs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory guidelines
- Prepare treatment areas and ensure therapy equipment is clean, organized, and functioning properly
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support quality patient care
- Maintain a professional, compassionate, and patient-centered approach at all times
- Support patients recovering from injury, illness, surgery, or other physical and cognitive limitations
Requirements- Required: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Required: Active COTA license in state of practice or ability to obtain
- Preferred: Previous occupational therapy or healthcare experience
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment
