Key Responsibilities
Execute specialized therapy plans designed by the supervising Occupational Therapist, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and activities to improve motor skills and coordination
Teach patients how to perform Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and eating, utilizing adaptive techniques as appropriate
Instruct patients and families on the proper use of adaptive equipment including reachers, mobility aids, and modified utensils
Record detailed notes on patient progress, behavioral changes, and safety concerns, reporting findings to the supervising OT to support treatment plan adjustments
Provide emotional encouragement to patients and train caregivers on home program assistance
Prepare treatment areas, maintain equipment cleanliness, and assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling and billing as needed
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of OTA experience in a Long Term Care (LTC) setting
Active Texas OTA license or valid compact state license
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with Daily Occupational Records (DOR) documentation
