Screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders, developing appropriate plans of care in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice standards
Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
Assess patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly, documenting all required information in the electronic documentation system per regulatory and clinical requirements
Communicate effectively with supervisors and health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans; participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings
Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to physical disorders
Complete comprehensive discharge summaries and accurately record treatment minutes per all regulatory and clinical requirements
Required Qualifications
1+ years of OTA experience required
Long Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation experience required
Active Massachusetts OTA license required
New graduates may be considered provided they have completed a Level II fieldwork experience (Level I observation experience alone does not qualify)
Adherence to NBCOT and Massachusetts state practice acts, code of conduct, and professional ethics required
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience utilizing standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions
Familiarity with electronic documentation systems in a clinical setting
Experience supervising rehabilitation aides or students
