Key Responsibilities
Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
Administer rehabilitation procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices.
Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatment plans accordingly, documenting all updates in the electronic clinical record.
Provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding cognitive and/or physical disorders.
Accurately record treatment minutes and maintain patient records in compliance with all regulatory and clinical requirements.
Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings, as well as required trainings and in-services.
Required Qualifications
Active COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) license – required.
Active Oklahoma State Licensure/Registration – required.
Minimum of 1 year of OTA experience – required.
Long Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation setting experience – required.
Adherence to NBCOT, AOTA, and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics standards.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience supervising or supporting OTA students in a clinical setting.
Familiarity with electronic documentation systems used in LTC or rehabilitation environments.
