Key Responsibilities
Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist.
Administer rehabilitation procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices.
Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Document all required clinical information in the electronic documentation system and accurately record treatment minutes per regulatory and clinical requirements.
Provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to cognitive and/or physical disorders.
Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings, as well as required trainings and in-services.
Required Qualifications
Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Missouri.
Minimum of 1 year of OTA experience.
Long Term Care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting experience.
Adherence to NBCOT, AOTA, and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience utilizing evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.
Experience supervising or supporting OTA students under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist.
