Key Responsibilities
  • Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist.
  • Administer rehabilitation procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices.
  • Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Document all required clinical information in the electronic documentation system and accurately record treatment minutes per regulatory and clinical requirements.
  • Provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to cognitive and/or physical disorders.
  • Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings, as well as required trainings and in-services.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Missouri.
  • Minimum of 1 year of OTA experience.
  • Long Term Care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting experience.
  • Adherence to NBCOT, AOTA, and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience utilizing evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.
  • Experience supervising or supporting OTA students under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist.
