Key Responsibilities- Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist
- Administer rehabilitation procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
- Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Document all required clinical information in the electronic documentation system and accurately record treatment minutes per regulatory requirements
- Provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding cognitive and/or physical disorders
- Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings, and assist with discharge summaries as directed
Required Qualifications- Active Missouri OTA State License/Registration (required)
- Minimum of 1 year of OTA experience, or completion of a Level II fieldwork experience (new graduates with Level II experience considered)
- Experience in a Long Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting (required)
- Adherence to NBCOT, AOTA, and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience supervising or supporting OTA students under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist
- Familiarity with electronic documentation systems used in rehabilitation or long term care settings
