Key Responsibilities- Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist.
- Administer rehabilitation procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices.
- Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatment plans accordingly in the clinical record.
- Document all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system and accurately record treatment minutes per all applicable requirements.
- Provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to cognitive and/or physical disorders.
- Participate in required meetings including patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings, as well as required trainings and in-services.
Required Qualifications- Minimum of 1 year of OTA experience required.
- Long Term Care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting experience required.
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license required.
- Active Missouri State Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure required.
- Adherence to NBCOT, AOTA, and Missouri state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics standards.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience utilizing evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions in a long term care or skilled nursing environment.
- Experience supervising or supporting OTA students under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist.
