Key Responsibilities
Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist
Administer rehabilitation procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatment plans accordingly in the clinical record
Document all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system and accurately record treatment minutes per all applicable requirements
Provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to cognitive and/or physical disorders
Participate in required meetings including patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings, and contribute input for discharge summaries
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of OTA experience required
Long Term Care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting experience required
Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license required
Active Massachusetts State Licensure/Registration required
Adherence to NBCOT, AOTA, and Massachusetts state practice acts, code of conduct, and professional ethics
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience utilizing evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions
Experience supervising and supporting OTA students under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist
