Key Responsibilities
Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist
Administer rehabilitation procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatment plans accordingly
Document all required clinical information in the electronic documentation system and accurately record treatment minutes per regulatory requirements
Provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding cognitive and/or physical disorders
Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings, and support student supervision under the guidance of the supervising Occupational Therapist
Required Qualifications
Active Massachusetts OTA State License (required)
Minimum of 1 year of OTA experience, OR completion of a Level II fieldwork experience (new graduates with Level II experience considered)
Long Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience required
Adherence to NBCOT, AOTA, and Massachusetts state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics standards
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience utilizing evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions in a long-term care setting
Familiarity with electronic documentation systems used in rehabilitation or LTC environments
