We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide rehabilitative care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The COTA will implement individualized treatment plans, assist patients in improving functional independence, and help restore daily living skills while delivering high-quality care across a variety of healthcare settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Provide therapeutic activities to improve strength, coordination, balance, fine motor skills, and functional mobility.
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
Monitor patient progress and report treatment responses to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, and safety techniques.
Maintain accurate treatment documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Prepare treatment areas and maintain therapy equipment in a safe and organized condition.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
Adapt quickly to new clinical environments while maintaining high standards of patient care.
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification through NBCOT.
Active Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state of practice.
Current BLS certification required.
Minimum 1 year of recent Occupational Therapy Assistant experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of rehabilitation techniques, ADL training, therapeutic exercises, and patient mobility.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous travel healthcare experience preferred.
Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, skilled nursing facilities (SNF), home health, or long-term care settings.
Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, post-surgical, geriatric, or pediatric patients.
Ability to adapt quickly to new facilities and interdisciplinary teams.
