Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) for a night shift hospital position requiring 2+ years of adult critical care, ED, and transport experience.

Details

• Work within the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit at a hospital
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, 19:00 to 07:30
• Every other weekend work required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Black scrub color required

Requirements

• RRT or CRT certification accepted
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• MD state license required at time of submission (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required within the last 7 years
• Adult critical care, Emergency Department, and transport experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Completion of at least one prior travel assignment required
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
• Experience supporting at least 2 years within the previous 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to adult critical care and emergency department patients, including transport duties
• Manage patients with ARDS, COVID, fresh tracheostomy, and pneumonia
• Perform ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Administer medications via aerosol, MDI, and nebulizer delivery systems
• Perform airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
• Draw and interpret arterial blood gases
• Perform chest physiotherapy and tracheostomy care
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per 13-week contract, must be submitted with initial application
• Off-cycle orientation accepted, starting every Monday
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
• Candidates address must match driver's license for local status determination
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Manager interviews are not guaranteed
