Position: Surgical Technologist (Surgical Tech)
Location: Redwood City, CA
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: 4×10
Experience Required: 2 Years
Weekly Pay:$1,700 to $1,850
Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for scheduled procedures
Set up and maintain the sterile field according to established surgical protocols
Assist surgeons and surgical assistants by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment efficiently
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team throughout procedures
Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, draping, and other pre-operative activities
Perform accurate counts of instruments, sponges, needles, and other surgical items
Handle and prepare surgical specimens according to facility policies
Assist with operating room turnover and prepare the room for subsequent procedures
Inspect surgical instruments and equipment for cleanliness, functionality, and readiness
Maintain sterile technique and immediately report or address breaks in sterility
Assist with cleaning and appropriate handling of surgical equipment after procedures
Maintain accurate documentation related to procedures, supplies, and equipment
Collaborate closely with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesia professionals, and other perioperative staff
Follow infection prevention, patient safety, OSHA, HIPAA, and facility policies
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient operating room environment
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience
Current CST certification required by facility
Current BLS Certification required
Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile technique, surgical procedures, and infection prevention
