Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - $1,887 per week in Lafayette, CO

Job Title: Surgical Technologist Profession: Tech Specialty: Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of Surgical Tech experience; 1-year scrubbing experience with Cardio experience License: Required CO License Certifications: NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist, BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers Must-Have: Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program, or graduated from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past six months, or two years of scrub tech experience within the last three years Description: Performs various duties as a member of the surgical team to ensure a safe and successful operative procedure. This position functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and directly reports to Surgical Services management. It is expected that the Surgery Tech will support system-wide and surgical operations initiatives and practices. In addition, this person will actively participate in the surgical operations safety plan as outlined. Maintains accountability for ensuring the operating room and all surgical items meet sterilization criteria. Maintains the sterile field and ensures a safe environment. Recognizes and addresses sharps and fire safety processes. Prepares the operating room and instruments for the surgical procedure. May assist with sterile processing. Assists the surgeon(s) during the procedure while staying within the scope of practice. Can identify emergency situations and exercises judgment when implementing procedures to respond to emergencies. Assists with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for the next procedure upon completion of the procedure. Demonstrates the ability to maintain a sterile field and ensure environmental safety. Demonstrates the ability to recognize and address sharps and fire safety processes. Demonstrates knowledge of surgical services and sterile processing. Demonstrates the ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations. Has experience in surgeries support within the surgical team. Has experience in life support situations related to surgical care. Has experience in sterile field management and sterilization processes and requirements. Has experience in supervision within surgical services.
