Position: Surgical Technologist
Location: Pittsfield
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Evening Shift
Schedule: 5×8
Experience Required: 2 Years
Weekly Pay:$2000 to $2200
Responsibilities
Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and surgical supplies prior to procedures
Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures using proper aseptic techniques
Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, sponges, and surgical supplies during operations
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to promote efficient workflow and patient safety
Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts before, during, and after procedures
Prepare specialty surgical equipment and instruments for various surgical cases
Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and safe transfers before and after surgery
Handle and properly label surgical specimens according to facility protocols
Clean, restock, and prepare operating rooms between surgical procedures
Follow infection prevention, sterilization, and patient safety standards at all times
Collaborate with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff to deliver exceptional surgical care
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred or required by facility policy
Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience
Current BLS Certification required
Experience assisting with general surgery and multiple surgical specialties preferred
Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and operating room procedures
Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
Ability to remain calm and efficient during routine and emergency surgical procedures
Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Ability to stand for extended periods and actively participate throughout surgical procedures
