Job Title: Surgical Technologist Profession: Tech Specialty: CVOR Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: - 2 years of Surgical Tech experience - 1 year of CVOR scrubbing experience required License: CO License (DORA) Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: - Regular attendance to perform work on site during scheduled business hours or shifts is required - Ability to work nights and/or weekends is required for identified positions - Two years of Surgical Tech experience - One year of CVOR scrubbing experience - Must include Cardio experience in resume/profile Description: Performs scrub duties and maintains sterile supplies and sterile technique. Assists in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients. Assembles, organizes, and completes case carts according to doctors' preference lists. Provides appropriate instrumentation, suture, and all supplies as requested and maintains a sterile environment. May assist surgeon by passing instruments during cases. Counts sponges, needles, blades, and instruments using proper technique and established policy. Assists in maintenance and care of specimens and prepares for laboratory analysis. Handles specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials, and sharps in accordance with established policy and recommended standards of practice. Assists with timely turnover of rooms, including cleanup, replacement, and restocking of supplies and equipment. Cares for instruments and equipment. Promotes the mission, vision, and values, and abides by service behavior standards. Performs other duties as assigned. May be required to float to other departments based on business need. May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
