Description

American Traveler is seeking a Charge RN for the Operating Room requiring 5 years of circulating/scrubbing experience and 2 years in a charge role within a Level II Trauma OR setting.

Details

• Level II Trauma center Operating Room unit
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• 1:1 patient ratio
• General OR cases including trauma, urology, podiatry, ortho, plastics, neuro, GYN, endoscopy, ENT, thoracic, vascular, cardiac, and bariatric procedures
• DaVinci robotics experience required
• Epic EMR required
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours (06:45-17:15)
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Rotational weekend coverage required, inclusive of on-call shifts
• On-call required 5-6 times per 4-week period, including one weekend call
• Weekday/weeknight on-call runs from end of shift until 6:30 am the next morning
• Weekend on-call shift is a 24-hour commitment
• Must arrive within 30 minutes of being called in
• Floating required within specialty and to sister Laurel campus as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD state or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a circulating/scrubbing OR role required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a charge RN role within OR/Trauma-2 required
• Proficiency across multiple surgical specialties including General, Bariatrics, Trauma, GYN, Urology, Robotics, Ortho, Neuro, and Podiatry required
• Strong general OR and robotics experience required
• Effective communication skills with Anesthesia, Surgeons/Providers, Nursing team, and Leadership required
• Ability to prioritize cases efficiently based on acuity, including trauma, emergent, urgent, and add-on cases

Additional Information

• Serve as Charge RN overseeing daily operations of the Operating Room
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary surgical teams to ensure efficient case flow
• First-time travelers accepted if candidate has strong general OR and robotics experience
