Trusted Talent is seeking a travel nurse RN Educator for a travel nursing job in Hermiston, Oregon.

Definition of Position:

The Clinical Staff Educator provides education and instruction for staff, focusing on clinical personnel. This role serves as a resource for healthcare education and training programs, introducing technical and theoretical concepts. The educator supports the development of education alongside department managers and clinical nurse coordinators. Proficiency or willingness to become proficient in simulation training using mannequins and software is expected. The position collaborates with the Quality Management team to promote continuous improvement and identify educational opportunities, assisting with quality department activities as needed.

  • Perform a variety of tasks, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Accept responsibility for directing, controlling, and planning activities.
  • Make evaluations and decisions based on measurable criteria.
  • Work independently to complete assignments or communicate barriers to completion to the manager.
  • Prioritize and re-prioritize duties throughout the day.
  • Evaluate programs and participant learning, making changes as needed.
  • Respect patient confidentiality and handle information appropriately.
  • Foster a sense of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Communicate effectively with empathy and compassion.
  • Maintain self-motivation, dependability, grooming, and organization.
  • Support the organization's mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in required education programs relevant to position responsibilities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Required: Minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing. Experience and national certifications may substitute for the degree with Vice President approval and commitment to obtaining a bachelor's degree within 3 years.
  • Preferred: Master of Science in Nursing Degree.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations:

  • Required: Current Oregon RN license. Certified in Healthcare Provider (HCP) CPR, CNOR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Experience:

  • Required: Minimum of 5 years of hospital nursing experience, including 3 years in the OR.
  • Preferred: Experience in teaching, course development, and utilizing simulation manikins and software. Experience as a clinical staff educator.

Other Skills:

  • Understanding of basic computer network functions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Excellent telephone etiquette, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Experience with fax machines and copiers.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 45 WPM accurately.
  • Proficiency in English punctuation, spelling, grammar, and proofreading.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems beneficial.
  • Ability to cater to patients' age-specific, cultural, physical, and psychosocial needs.
  • Ability to write educational objectives for healthcare employees.
