JOB DESCRIPTION

D/E/N Rotating Shift Schedule; Holidays, Weekends, On Call, Call Back per unit needs

  • Vascular surgery coverage and call responsibilities
  • Demonstrates competence in selecting exposure factors, positioning and consistently produces radiologic images of diagnostic quality.
  • Works cooperatively with all members of the department to resolve problems expediently.
  • Displays flexibility, team spirit, compassion, respect, politeness and accountability when dealing with customers.
  • Demonstrates awareness of and sensitivity for patient's rights in all interfaces with patients.
AREAS OF EMPHASIS
  • Instructs and prepares patients for examinations and assists Radiologist during procedures.
  • Demonstrates competence and proficiency in operation of all equipment and reports malfunctions to manager or lead.
  • Completes all assigned procedures in a timely manner and uses time between procedures to department advantage-assisting others and or assisting with room turnover
  • Employee understands his/her role on maintaining medication security to authorized personnel only.
  • Demonstrates competency in providing health care services in own job category to all age groups.
  • Demonstrates competency in interpersonal relationships to all age groups.
DOCUMENTATION/INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
  • Demonstrates competency in the use of Hospital information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS) and PACS.
  • Participates in hospital performance improvement activities (BPI projects, task forces,
  • etc.) when warranted.
  • Demonstrate confidentiality using own password and all patient care modules.
  • Answers telephone inquiries of a technical nature from physicians or hospital personnel
  • in other areas of the hospital while maintaining good phone etiquette.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BLS and ACLS
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Requires a minimum of two years of current Interventional Radiology Tech experience.
  • Graduate from a fully accredited Radiology Tech program
  • Active unencumbered New York Radiology Tech state license
  • One year of Epic experience
  • VIR Certified-preferred
  • ARRT Certification
