Job Description

Connected Health Care is seeking an experienced Local Travel OR Tech to join our healthcare staffing team for a 13-week contract in Hollister, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for an Operating Room Technician to work with one of our valued healthcare partners while enjoying the flexibility and benefits of local travel nursing and allied health staffing.

The ideal candidate will have strong Operating Room experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment. The OR Tech will assist surgical teams before, during, and after procedures while maintaining a safe, sterile, and efficient operating room.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
• Assist surgeons, nurses, and other members of the surgical team during operations
• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection prevention and safety protocols
• Pass surgical instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgical staff as needed
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team throughout procedures
• Assist with patient positioning and preparation for surgery
• Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, needles, and other supplies
• Clean, disinfect, and restock operating rooms following procedures
• Properly handle and care for surgical instruments and equipment
• Follow hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
• Communicate effectively with members of the surgical and healthcare teams
• Provide safe, efficient, and compassionate support in the Operating Room

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology or Operating Room Technician program preferred

Certification and License Requirements

• Current California OR Tech Certification/License required
• Current BLS certification required
• National certification such as Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred, when applicable
• Must meet all facility-specific credentialing and compliance requirements
